Sustainability Commitment

Sustainability at Puri Bagus Villa Resorts

Our Commitment

At Puri Bagus Villa Resorts, sustainability is an integral part of our identity. Rooted in the Balinese philosophy of harmony between people, nature, and spirituality called Tri Hita Karana we are committed to responsible hospitality that preserves the environment, empowers local communities, and respects cultural heritage.

Our company is dedicated to maintaining these initiatives constantly to ensure that every aspect of our operations contributes positively.

Recognition

We are proud to share that Puri Bagus Candidasa has been a consistent recipient of the prestigious Tri Hita Karana Award. Most recently honored with the Emerald distinction, this recognition validates our deep-rooted commitment to implementing rigorous environmental and social practices.

Environmental Stewardship

Our operations are designed to minimize our ecological footprint and protect the pristine beauty of Bali’s coastal and rural landscapes.

  • Waste Management: We implement strict waste sorting protocols across our properties. By separating organic, recyclable, and residual waste at the source, we ensure materials are processed responsibly.
  • Beach & Resort Clean-ups: Our team regularly conducts Kerja Bakti (community work) to clean our beaches and the surrounding resort areas, ensuring our coastlines remain free of debris.
  • Water & Energy Conservation: To conserve precious resources, we use an Eco Green Card system in our bathrooms. Bed sheets and towels are only changed upon guest request, significantly reducing water and chemical usage.
  • Long-term Reforestation: We are committed to the future of our ecosystem through ongoing tree-planting programs, supporting local biodiversity and water catchment.

Community Engagement & Social Responsibility

We believe that the heart of Balinese hospitality lies in its people. We actively invest in the welfare of our neighbors and the next generation.

  • More than 70% of our team members are hired locally, contributing directly to the regional economy
  • Collaboration with local suppliers and farmers to source products responsibly
  • Introduction of local artists and locally made products to our guests, creating meaningful cultural connections
  • Participation in community and cultural initiatives in surrounding villages
  • Social contributions with providing regular donations to local orphanages and emergency relief funds to support those affected by natural disasters

We believe that sustainable tourism must benefit the people who live in the destination.

Economic Empowerment

We integrate local talent and products into the guest experience to ensure that tourism benefits the Balinese economy directly.

  • Local Partnerships: We prioritize purchasing from local tenants and the Koperasi Unit Desa (KUD – Village Unit Cooperative) to support local farmers and small businesses.
  • Artisan Introduction: We introduce our guests to the island’s rich craftsmanship by featuring local artists and utilizing authentic local products throughout our villas, including paintings and musical instruments.

Cultural Preservation

Our resorts celebrate the richness of Balinese culture by integrating traditions into the guest experience:

  • Showcasing local art, craftsmanship, and performances
  • Respecting and supporting traditional ceremonies and practices
  • Designing spaces that reflect authentic Balinese architecture and philosophy

Through these efforts, we aim to preserve and share Bali’s cultural heritage with integrity.

Responsible Operations

Our operational approach focuses on long-term sustainability:

  • Use of natural and locally sourced materials in construction and maintenance
  • Landscape preservation to maintain biodiversity and natural balance
  • Ongoing staff training in sustainability practices across departments

These measures ensure that sustainability is embedded in both design and daily operations.

Guest Participation

We encourage our guests to take part in our sustainability efforts:

  • Use the eco green card system for linen changes
  • Support local products and artisans available at the resort
  • Respect local customs, traditions, and the natural environment

Small actions collectively make a meaningful difference.
